Martini & Rossi Ambrato is a relatively new addition to the Martini & Rossi vermouth family, launched in 2011. It represents a departure from the classic Rosso and Bianco styles, offering a unique and complex flavor profile.

Here's a breakdown of its key characteristics:

  • Amber Color: As the name suggests, Ambrato has a distinctive amber hue, setting it apart from the traditional red and white vermouths. This color comes from the infusion of botanicals like gentian, rhubarb, and wormwood, along with a touch of caramel.

  • Flavor Profile: Ambrato offers a complex flavor profile that blends the sweetness of a traditional vermouth with a touch of bitterness and a unique herbal character. It has notes of dried fruits, spices, and a subtle sweetness.
  • Versatility: While it can be enjoyed on its own over ice, Ambrato is particularly well-suited for cocktails. It adds a unique dimension to classic cocktails like the Martini, Negroni, and Manhattan, and can also be used to create innovative new drinks.
  • Modern Approach: Martini & Rossi developed Ambrato with modern bartenders in mind, aiming to create a versatile and complex vermouth that would inspire creativity and innovation in cocktail making.
