Interesting Facts

  • Family Legacy: The brand has remained family-run for generations. Don Jorge's son, Juan Antonio Salles, and grandson, Jorge Antonio "Tony" Salles, have continued the family's dedication to producing high-quality tequila. In fact, Juan Antonio Salles was recognized as a "Gran Tequilero" by the National Chamber of the Tequila Industry, a prestigious award acknowledging his lifetime achievement in the tequila world.

  • Traditional Production: El Tequileño is known for using traditional production methods. They source agave from the Los Altos region of Jalisco, known for its high-quality agave due to the rich, red clay soil. They also use natural volcanic spring water from the Volcán de Tequila in their production process.

  • Connection to the Batanga: Interestingly, El Tequileño Blanco played a significant role in the history of the Batanga cocktail. In 1961, La Capilla, a famous bar in Tequila, chose El Tequileño Blanco as the tequila for their signature Batanga, further cementing the brand's place in tequila history.
